Congratulations to 8u Fastpitch Tournament Champions South Putnam #2

Congratulations to the top seeded South Putnam #2 team for winning the 2018 WCSL 8u Fastpitch Tournament. The Eagles went through the entire tournament without a loss winning the final game against 3rd seeded Greencastle #1. Greencastle #1 shook off a Saturday loss to Monrovia by charging back through the Loser bracket on Sunday winning three straight games to advance to the championship. In the end, however, South Putnam #2 proved too much in a hard fought game.

Greencastle #1 coached by Kyle Ames and sponsored by HOP Solutions collected wins on Friday and early Saturday before losing to Monrovia #1 Saturday afternoon. They, however, started first thing Sunday climbing up the standings with wins over Eminence, Bainbridge #1, and ultimately beating Monrovia #1 in a rematch of the winner's bracket game from Saturday.

Greencastle #2 coached by Brian Baker-Watson and sponsored by Kirsch Family Dentistry found themselves playing the early 8am game on Saturday losing to a tough Bainbridge #1 team. They won their first loser bracket game in dramatic come from behind fashion over Cloverdale #2 before succombing to South Putnam #1 in the early evening game.

Congratulations to all of the teams that spent the weekend out at Big Walnut Sports Park! Greencastle Youth Softball Association would also like to thank all of the volunteers who spent the weekend putting on this tournament. Their help allowed this tournament to be a complete success!
